Great Monitor, Terrible TV tuner... December 9, 2005 A. Cruz (Doral, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This LCD works great for every day computer functions as a monitor, but not as a TV. The problem is when you want to watch TV, you better be ready to handle the fuzzy picture. I've have it mounted on the wall in my computer room as a TV, but used a VCR to tune the cable channels, because it's TV tuner is terrible. The picture from the VCR's RCA plugs is ten times better than cable TV feed into the coax, but it is still fuzzy. I guess since it has such a high res native mode, the regular TV's low resolution can't be produced cleanly. For the price, you can't complain too much. I have been using it for 2 years, so I can't say I didn't get my money's worth.
It does have it's benefits, since I needed a second monitor to fix computers at home, it saves plenty of space hanging on the wall by two screws. No need to spend $50 on a VESA wall mount, when two drywall screws will do.
After two years, I've decided this Xmas I'm giving it to my mother as an upgrade to her 15" monitor on her computer at home, and I'm not even telling her it is a TV.
right for the price September 9, 2005 Jeff Bjornlie for the price, this lcd is not bad at all. as others have said, the picture tends to be a bit dark. but as i found for myself, you have to set the angle of the screen to allow for best viewing. then the picture is just fine. the remote is a bit small. and the volume controlles are not that easy to deal with. but i keep the mute set to "ON", and use the audio from my surround system anyway. all and all, i can't complaine. it's well worth the price paid.
Flat Panel TV February 17, 2005 J. J (Tybee) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I purchased this TV for my basement wall, to watch the Nascar races and so far so good, excellent TV. It is light and easy to handle, we popped out the bottom stoppers on the stand, removed the stand and with two screws in the wall it went up as easy as hanging a picture. The brightness did need adjusting but the picture comes in fine, maybe the picture depends on if you have cable or a dish. We have a dish and I have no problem at all, the remote is a little small and my husband kept hitting the wrong button to begin with but once you get used to it we both agreed- excellent choice *****
