Great TV January 4, 2009 Great TV! I purchased this at Sams Club in Nov 2008. Floor model for $732! Added a 3 year warranty for $79 so I can't lose. I've got the BDPS350 Blu-ray hooked up through HDMI and a 360 hooked up through Component and the picture is beautiful. Haven't tried tweaking the picture yet cause I haven't had to. There isn't much of a reflection on this TV which is a big plus. Many LCD's and Plasma's are so reflective. My one complaint is that my PC is hooked up (not through HDMI) and you can't view the PC on the whole screen. Don't know if a PC/Laptop with an HDMI output would fix that but I assume so. I have a Samsung 46" DLP and this picture is a lot clearer then that TV.
The best HDTV ever made. December 8, 2008 I'm not sure that this review will even get posted, as I don't think this product is still on the market. But I wanted to put my two cents in anyway.
This is by far the most amazing television I've ever seen. I did months of research and talked to a ton of people and they all overwhelmingly recommended this HDTV.
It's a shame Sony got out of this particular market (rear projection HD) because this TV is 100x better looking than anything else on the market right now.
Bring it back, Sony. Bring it back.
Sony Grand Wega September 28, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm very happy about the purchase of my new Sony television. It arrived in perfect condition and very quickly. It has a crisp, clear picture and I don't have any buyer's remorse (which is a first for me)! I would recommend this product to anyone who's looking for a theatre experience right in their own home.
Picture is stunning! September 27, 2007 After doing a lot of research, online and magazines, I decided to go with the Sony. I waited for the new style of this brand to be coming out in a month, and than I ordered mine. The price of $1999 was $200 better than any competitor to Amazon. The best part was while I was waiting for it to ship to me the price came down $100 not once but twice. Each time I called Amazon and they honored the price as the Sony had not shipped yet. So to get a 60" Sony SXRD at $1799 was unbelieveable. The last I looked the tv was at $2399. So if you shop earnestly you can do well for yourself. The tv has a picture that is amazing. I coupled it with an Oppo 1080p unconverting DVD player. The combination of these two with my old DVDs is unreal. I did use CNET's detailed set up procedure for the Sony and I am quite pleased at the results. The picture when you watch a football game in HDTV is almost as good as being there. Except on CBS, they must compress the picture and send it out less than ABC, NBC or ESPN. Only on CBS do we see artifacts and blurring. The only thing I would gripe about was that the tv took 12 days to get to my house. They did bring it in, uncrate it, set it on my stand, and take the box away with them. So all in all a great experience
