nice television, great price January 8, 2009 I needed to replace an old tv we used in the kitchen. Found the Toshiba at Amazon at a really good price. The set hasn't disappointed us. We get a clear picture and reasonably good sound. I customized the picture and sound to suit my needs. There was no assembly; the base was already attached. I found I can hide both my satellite box and the wires behind it. I like the half-mute feature because I can talk on the phone and still hear the tv a bit. I find I can't sit quite as close to the tv as I did with the old set but the view from our breakfast bar is outstanding. The only thing I wasn't used to was the short delay from start-up to actual picture appearing but it isn't a problem. I may buy another one for our bedroom.
Amazing! January 7, 2009 Love this TV - Can't wait to change all my TV's to HDLCD's. I would definitely purchase another Toshiba. I also have a 37 inch regular Toshiba TV and we really liked that.
I can't believe it! January 7, 2009 I bought this white TV for my white kitchen and it comes with a black power cord! What a disappointment! I had to go into my pile of old computer parts and find a cream colored power cord to use instead of the black cord. I sent the company (Toshiba) a couple of emails trying to get them to send me a "white" power cord but they insisted they didn't have white power cords. A week or so later my wife saw a 19" white Toshiba portable TV at SamsClub and it had a white power cord with it. That TV had a built-in DVD player. I was very disappointed about the cord color. Also, the TV's sound is "tinny" and seems to have no bass at all. I don't know if we'll ever get used to the sound. I've actually considered buying a couple of small (white) speakers to use with it. The picture is fine but it takes a couple of seconds to come on and to change channels. Plus the channel number that appears on the screen is much too small to read. Finally, the remote is huge and black! We used to have a 13" white "kitchen" TV and it came with a small white remote. So, Toshiba, I hope you're reading this. You need to go back to the drawing board and get it right. I'm not sure if I'd buy this TV again for these reasons. At the time I bought it, I could find no other "white" TV. I bought it for that reason alone...and the size of course.
Nice product January 6, 2009 Set up was a breeze, just plug it in and go. Picture is very nice and the remote is easy to use. I bought a cheap little DVD player to go with this and the remote was easily programmed to work the DVD as well. It was on sale, so the price was better than any others at the time.
Not as good as the Samsung January 6, 2009 Quick review - Bought 2 22 inch tv on same day from Amazon. Samsung and this one. First toshiba tv arrived with a stuck pixel (green)that was too annoying to consider keeping. Amazon was great and sent a new one out (a new tv not a new pixel)and picked up the old one with no hassles. The finish on both the first and replacement toshiba tv was not very tight where the screen meets the plastic body. no big deal but the Samsung was much better (also was $60 more) The picture, while not bad is not as good as the Samsung. The remote and menus are intuitive and allow you to control most of what you want. Depending on the value of $60 to you I would opt for the Samsung
