Customer Reviews:
very pleased January 9, 2009 I was so pleased with the picture and features of this little TV that I purchased another one like it, only with a built in DVD player a week later Great value !
Small but adequate LCD HDTV January 9, 2009 I bought this TV as a second remote TV for my Dish Network VIP 722 receiver. This meant that while it is capable of HD it would not receive an HD signal. But I just couldn't find a decent flat panel SD TV. The quality of the SD image was marginal, but I can't blame the TV. The weakest aspect of this TV is the audio. I read the other reviews and that seemed to be the common theme. They were right. So, in the end, this TV became my computer monitor. In that role it is terrific, but it's more expensive than a dedicated monitor. However, I have a rabbit ears antenna connected to it and can watch TV when I want. But I still use my 3.1 speaker system for audio to get decent base from my MP3's.
Tosh22 December 6, 2008 Amazon service was, as usual, efficient and timely. The Toshiba 22 inch HDTV arrived in perfect condition, and was very easy to set up. The picture quality was better than expected, even for non-HD channels. When HD is available the picture is quite spectacular. For small displays the 720p resolution is quite adequate.
Great picture, poor sound. December 5, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just received this unit and bought it based on my satisfaction with the Toshiba 37" Regza I bought a year ago. It replaces an old 13" in my bedroom so a 22" seems hugh. The various menues are the same as the Regza so it was very easy to figure out based on my previous experience. Contrary to the Amazon description, it has two HDMI inputs, not one. While the picture is really great in my view, I was very disappointed in the sound. Mamimum volume is just barely acceptable (I am a little hard of hearing) for listening and it sounds hollow and tinny. I got around this by hooking up a cheap book shelf stereo to my cable box to augment the sound and putting the speakers on both sides of the TV. There are no analog audio outputs on the TV so you need cable for this solution to work. Obviously, this solution would not be acceptable to everyone.
